The homeowners wanted a roof that would handle the Texas heat and need little upkeep. We replaced their 20-year-old asphalt shingles with a standing seam metal roof in a matte charcoal finish.

The homeowners wanted a roof that would handle the Texas heat and need little upkeep. We replaced their 20-year-old asphalt shingles with a standing seam metal roof in a matte charcoal finish.
Project challenges
The old shingles were curling and the upstairs rooms ran hot all summer. Both skylights also showed signs of leaking around their flashing.

Our solution
We stripped the roof to the deck, laid a high-temperature underlayment and re-flashed both skylights. Concealed-fastener panels were rolled to length on site for clean, continuous seams.
